Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the main airport for the whole metro. The PHX Sky Train is free, runs 24 hours a day and links the terminals to Valley Metro Rail at the 44th St/Washington station. From there, the A Line runs west into downtown Phoenix and east through Tempe to Mesa. Downtown Phoenix is also where the A Line meets the B Line, which runs between Metro Parkway to the north and Baseline Road to the south.
That makes our downtown properties (Phoenix Convention Center, Downtown Phoenix and Roosevelt Row) and Tempe ASU the easiest places in the Valley to stay without a car. In Tempe, the Tempe Streetcar connects the Dorsey/Apache and Mill Avenue/3rd Street light rail stops through downtown Tempe.
Glendale and Chandler are different. The light rail does not run to the Westgate stadium district or to Chandler, so plan on a rental car or rideshare. Both areas have free parking on the property. When to visit: seasons and big events
Winter and spring are Phoenix's busiest season. Spring training brings 15 Major League teams to 10 Cactus League ballparks across the Valley in February and March, including Camelback Ranch-Glendale, which the Dodgers and White Sox share. The Fiesta Bowl is played at State Farm Stadium, and the Cardinals play there through the fall and early winter. If you are coming for any of these, book Glendale Stadium or Westgate Stadium early.
