Getting around Dallas-Fort Worth

Dallas-Fort Worth has two commercial airports. DFW International sits between the two cities, and Dallas Love Field is on the north side of Dallas, close to the Medical District. Both can be reached by DART. The Orange Line runs to DFW Airport's Terminal A, and the Silver Line, which opened in October 2025, runs from DFW Airport's Terminal B east through Grapevine, Coppell, Carrollton, Addison, North Dallas and Richardson to Plano. For Love Field, take the Green or Orange Line to Inwood/Love Field Station and transfer to DART's Love Link bus to the terminal.

How much you will drive depends on where you stay. Richardson (CityLine) is the most transit-friendly of our Dallas-area properties because CityLine/Bush Station connects the Red, Orange and Silver Lines. Medical District guests have the Green and Orange Lines at Southwestern Medical District/Parkland Station, which DART describes as serving UT Southwestern, Parkland and Children's Health. North Dallas, Spring Creek and McKinney are car-first suburbs; our McKinney description points to US-75 and SH-121 as the main routes to Plano, downtown Dallas and the airport.

Arlington works differently. It is outside the DART system, so plan on driving or using Arlington On-Demand, the city's shared rideshare service. It covers the whole city and links to the CentrePort/DFW Airport station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE), the commuter line between downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth. When to visit: the Dallas calendar

Fall is the busiest stretch for event travel. The State Fair of Texas runs for 24 days at Fair Park each autumn, and football season fills AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Cowboys weekends. The Texas Rangers play at Globe Life Field, in the same Entertainment District, through the spring and summer. If your trip lines up with a home game or a stadium concert, book Arlington early.

For work travel, the calendar matters less than the location. Hospital rotations, project work on the Telecom Corridor and corporate training in Plano run all year, so the Medical District, Richardson and McKinney properties make sense in any month.
